Black Dressing Stones are used to restore diamond blades to cut like new. Diamond tools are most effective when used with diamonds exposed properly. Over time the diamond blades can be "clogged". "re-sharpening" can be accomplished by occasionally dressing the tool. Tearing caused from unexposed diamonds creates friction and this causes uneven wear and heat cracks in the diamond tool as well as the material being cut.
